The third stop of the 2018 World Para-Athletics Grand Prix Series kicked off in Beijing on Friday after the second stop held in Sao Paulo last month.

The sixth China Open Athletics Championships will take place in the Chinese capital from May 11 to 13. Organized by the China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities, the event will take place at one of the training venues used for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.

The three-day event attracted about 268 athletes with disabilities from 16 countries and regions including Greece, United States, Kazakhstan and China.

Besides the Dubai, Sao Paulo and Beijing events, the other six stops for this year's World Para-Athletics Grand Prix Series will be held in Italy's Rieti, Switzerland's Nottwil, Paris, America's Tempe, Tunis and Berlin.
