Andres Iniesta says he will be moving to Japan and is expected to sign for Vissel Kobe.

Spain veteran Andres Iniesta confirmed on Tuesday that he will play his football in Japan next season.

The 34-year-old posted a photo of himself on his 'twitter' page inside a private plane alongside Hiroshi Mikitani, the owner of Japanese club, Vissel Kobe, with the message: "on the way to my new home with my friend Hiroshi Mikitani."

The confirmation ends the speculation over where Iniesta would play his football ever since he announced two and a half weeks ago that he would leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season.

Last Friday saw Iniesta given a private send off by the club's players and directors at the Camp Nou, while the packed stands of the stadium acclaimed him after Barca won their last game of the season 1-0 against Real Sociedad and were handed this season's title.

It had previously thought Iniesta would move to Chinese Super League side, Chongqing Dangdai Lifan, but the club denied any deal.

Then it was reported that Iniesta would close Japan and Vissel Kobe, given that Mikitani is the Executive Director of Barcelona's current shirt sponsor, Rakuten, and has close relations with the club.
