Kenyan striker Michael Olunga will return to his Chinese club Guizhou Zhicheng after his loan spell with Spain's Girona expires on June 30.

However, the Harambee Stars striker believes his long term future will be away from China as he is on the brink of signing a permanent contract with an English Premier League side during the current transfer window.

Olunga, currently in Kenya for his holiday, has not traveled with the national team to Mumbai for the Hero Intercontinental Cup tournament, where Harambee Stars is playing in a four-team tournament.

Coach Dylan Kerr, who was instrumental in securing Olunga his transfer to the Chinese league, said on Saturday he is finalizing plans for Olunga to move to England.

Speaking in Nairobi, Kerr, who is the coach of Gor Mahia, the Kenyan premier league Champions, said he is not in a position to commend on the clubs keen to sign the Kenyan striker.

"I tried to sign Olunga two times but he went overseas. He has made his mark on the European market with the one year spell in Spain. But he is now leaving Girona. His advisors have called me asking if he can go to England," said Kerr.

Olunga, 24, spent last season on loan at Girona FC from Chinese club Guizhou after being relegated to the reserve team as the Chinese clubs tried to comply with the newly introduced Chinese Super League (CSL) foreign quota rule.

With the Chinese club still having more than five foreign players, Olunga will remain ineligible to play for Guizhou. CSL stipulates a strict foreign quota of a maximum of five foreigners in a team.

"Olunga's advisors, who want him to play in England, are asking for my help to secure him a move to England because still have contacts in England. I am in touch with a few clubs there. But, I cannot reveal a lot now," said Kerr.
