China's national women's volleyball team hopes to progress to the final round of the 2018 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League, head coach Lang Ping said in Nanjing on Tuesday.

The finals will kick off on June 27, in Nanjing City of China's Jiangsu Province. Six top teams including China, Brazil, the Netherlands, USA, Serbia and Turkey will be fighting for the championship.

At the press conference held on Tuesday, the head coaches and captains of all six teams said they will try to bring out their best; showcasing a high level of competition.

"We have new faces in the team this year and [we are] technically a long way [away] from being as strong as our opponents in the tournament," Lang said. "We are ready to face the best teams in the world and show our best in front of the local fans."

The six teams will play in two pools in a round-robin format. The top two teams of each pool will qualify for the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will advance to compete for the Nations League title on July 1.

The Volleyball Nations League replaced the World Grand Prix this year, an annual women's international event that ran between 1993 and 2017.
