Primary and secondary schools in Beijing will incorporate education on Winter Olympic Games into their curriculum with no less than three class hours per month, according to a document recently issued by the city's education and sports authorities and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics organization committee.

Beijing will also build 200 demonstration schools regarding Winter Olympics education and 200 winter sports schools by 2021.

Schools are encouraged to cooperate with ski resorts, ice rink operators, winter sports clubs or training institutions to open winter sports courses on campus. Special education schools will open ice and snow sports courses or similar ones for physically challenged students.

Physical education teachers at Beijing's primary and secondary schools will be trained in terms of their teaching methods, referee skills, rules of the sports as well as protection of students during the exercise. Training will especially focus on skating, skiing and ice hockey.

Education authorities in Beijing's various districts are required to invest more in education on Winter Olympics and winter sports, in order to provide financial, personnel and technical support for popularizing winter sports in the city.
