Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal for the transfer of midfielder Axel Witsel from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.

Dortmund claim they have met the 29-year-old's release clause and that the midfielder has agreed to join them on a deal until 30 June, 2022.

Witsel, who made six appearances for Belgium at the 2018 World Cup as they finished third, has won a total of 96 caps.

Witsel joined Tianjin in January 2017 and impressed as he helped the newly-promoted club to a third-place finish and a first qualification for the AFC Champions League.
