China beat S. Korea 3-0 in women's volleyball

The Chinese women's volleyball team proceeds to the next round after defeating South Korea 3-0 in the Group B qualifying match of the 2018 Asian Games at Indoor Tennis Stadium, Bung Karno Sports Stadium, Jakarta, on Thursday.


Previously, China had defeated Vietnam and Chinese Taipei, each in three sets.


In the first set against South Korea, China won 25-21, while in the second set China sped up and won 25-16. In the third set, the score was 25-16 also for China.


With the victory over South Korea, China proceeds to the quarterfinals after three consecutive victories in Group B.


Chinese team captain Zhu Ting said her team was ready to meet any winning teams from Group A over her team's cohesiveness and prime stamina. She added that they were well informed of the strength of teams from Group A, such as Japan.


"We will present the best for our country. Our target is gold medal from women's volleyball," she said.


Meanwhile, in the qualifying match of women's volleyball Group A, the Philippines defeated Homg Kong 3-0, with the score of 25-18 in the first set, 25-21 in the second, and 25-22 in the third set.
