Chinese women's and men's table tennis team both secured their berths in final four at the 18th Asian Games here on Monday.

China swept Japan 3-0 in women's team quarterfinals, and their men's side recorded the same score over Hong Kong, China in quarterfinals.

Wang Manyu withstood sluggish start to hold off Miyu Kato 5-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-9.

"Opponents in group stages were not quite strong. The match against Japan was a real test for me," admitted Wang, adding that she hopes to do better in following matches.

"The first knockout match was always hard to play. Our young paddlers lived up to my expectation," said Chinese coach Li Sun.

Chen Meng extended China's lead with a 3-1 victory over Minami Ando, before world No. 1 Zhu Yuling capped the victory by beating Miyu Maeda in straight games.

China will face South Korea in Tuesday's semifinals, with the other duel to be played between Hong Kong, China and DPR Korea.

Chinese men's team, featuring Fan Zhendong, Lin Gaoyuan and Liang Jingkun, also breezed past Hong Kong, China without losing a game.
