Chinese table tennis pair Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha came back from two games down to triumph in an all-Chinese final against Lin Gaoyuan/Wang Manyu and claim the mixed doubles gold medal at the 18th Asian Games on Thursday.

"We made full preparation before the match, so we didn't feel nervous at all despite our two-game deficit. My partner told me to just fight for every point," said Sun.

China secured a one-two finish as both of their pairs moved through Wednesday's semifinals.

The two pairs were involved in an intense first-game contention, going neck-and-neck to 12-all, before Lin and Wang snatched two points in a row to take an initiative at 14-12.

The Lin/Wang duo continued their momentum to take away the second game 11-9.

However, Wang and Sun, the younger and more energetic pair, regrouped themselves to bag the victory of the following four games 14-12, 13-11, 11-7, 11-7.

"We had good partnership at the Games. The gold medal will undoubtedly boost my confidence. Now I feel totally relieved," Wang pointed out.

"In our final match here, we didn't think too much about the result, and just focused on every point," he added.

China reclaimed the gold medal of the event that it lost at the 2014 Incheon Games.

Moments later, Lin Gaoyuan and Wang Manyu sailed through their respective singles round of 32 match in straight games.

World's top-ranked Fan Zhendong of China also secured a berth in last 16 after easing past Xiao Zikang of Macao, China 4-0. Chen Meng advanced in women's singles event by the same score.
