FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi celebrates after scoring the 1-1 equalizer during a Spanish LaLiga soccer match against SD Huesca at Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, north eastern Spain, 02 September 2018.

FC Barcelona go into the international break as leaders of the Liga Santander with three wins from three games after a crushing 8-2 win over recently promoted Huesca on Sunday night.

Although Huesca performed well and highlighted weaknesses in the Barca defense in a first half which ended 3-2 with Leo Messi and Luis Suarez both scoring, but they had no answer after the break as Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic, Jordi Alba and Suarez and Messi again made Huesca pay for leaving too many spaces in defense.

Barca's goals take them top of the table ahead of Real Madrid, who also maintain their 100 percent start to the campaign.

Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema were again decisive as Real Madrid prolonged their 100 percent start to the season with a 4-1 win at home to Leganes on Saturday night.

Thibaut Courtois made his debut in the Real Madrid goal and Bale put his side ahead in the 17th minute, although Leganes were level from the penalty spot shortly afterwards.

The 1-1 continued until the second half when Madrid improved drastically and two goals from Benzema, his 3rd and 4th of the season, put the result before doubt, before Unai Bustinza's foul on Marco Asensio allowed Sergio Ramos net a penalty to make it 4-1.

Atletico Madrid's irregular start to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat away to Celta Vigo.

The result leaves Atletico with four points from 3 games; their worst ever start to a campaign under since Diego Simeone took over as coach.

Atletico were lackluster in midfield and defense and fell behind to a goal from Maxi Gomez less than a minute into the second half, following a slip from Diego Godin. Iago Aspes doubled Celta's lead six minutes later and Atletico's evening was complete when Stefan Savic was sent off for a second yellow card 20 minutes from time.

Sunday's Valencia derby between Levante and Valencia produced four goals, entertainment and a 2-2 draw. Roger Marti scored twice for Levante, only for Denis Cheryshev and a Dani Parejo penalty to twice peg the home side back and assure a share of the points.

37-year-old Joaquin Sanchez came on as a second half substitute and scored the only goal of the game as Betis beat local rivals, Sevilla in the Seville derby. Sevilla had midfielder Roque Mesa sent off for two yellow cards in the 66th minute.

Espanyol took 12 corners to Alaves' none and opened the scoring against the Basque side through Leo Baptistao in the 42nd minute only to see how goals from Borja Baston and Ruben Soriano in the 57th and 59th minute meant the points stayed in Vitoria.

Friday kicked off with a dull 0-0 draw between Getafe and Valladolid, while Girona won 1-0 away to Villarreal thanks to a Christian Stuani goal.

Finally Eibar scored their first goals of the season as they claimed their first points with a 2-1 win at home to Real Sociedad.

Willian Jose put Real Sociedad ahead from the penalty spot, although he had to leave the game with a muscle strain directly afterwards, but new signing Marc Cardona equalized shortly afterwards and Charles gave Eibar all three points with a goal in injury time.
