Keno Machado secured Brazil's first gold medal at the Youth Olympics by wining the men's 75kg boxing title on Wednesday.
Machado beat Algeria's Farid Douibi in a unanimous points decision after their bout lasted the full three rounds at the Youth Olympic Park's Oceania Pavilion.
Earlier, Britain's Ivan Hope Price also won his country's first gold medal of these Games by clinching the flyweight (49-52kg) title. The 18-year-old stopped Sarawut Sukthet of Thailand in the first round.
In the men's welterweight (69kg) division, Argentine Brian Arregui defeated Morocco's Yassine Elouarz on points in their gold medal bout.
In other boxing finals on Wednesday, Russia's Aleksei beat Kazakhstan's Damir Toibay in the men's super heavyweight (+91kg), Thailand's Panpatchara Somnuek overcame Mexico's Jennifer Carrillo in the women's featherweight (54-57kg) and Thailand's Atichai Phoemsap defeated Ukrainian Taras Bondarchuk in the men's lightweight (60kg) category.
