Angel Di Maria has signed a two-year contract extension with Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, tying the Argentine winger with the capital club until June 30, 2021.

The club said on Wednesday that since joining the club in 2015, the 30-year-old Di Maria has played 150 matches, scoring 57 goals and providing 58 assists.

In 2015-16, the Argentine finished top assists provider in Ligue 1 with 18, and was named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.

During his first three seasons, he has won 10 trophies with PSG, including two Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, three French League Cups and two French Super Cups.

"I have loved the last three years in Paris where I have everything I need to play my best football. Every day I feel honored and motivated to be a part of such an ambitious project," said Di Maria after signing his new contract.

"Along with my teammates, we have a lot more great things to achieve and we will continue to help PSG grow as a big club internationally. I am convinced that the best is still to come," he added.

Di Maria has been capped 97 times and scored 20 goals for Argentina, finishing runners-up at the 2014 World Cup with his national team.

"Angel is at the peak of his career, where his talent and experience make him now one of the best footballers in the world," said Paris Saint-Germain chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

"He has chosen to play the best years of his illustrious career with Paris Saint-Germain. Once again, the best players in the world are showing their desire to not only play for PSG, but to stay and make history with this club," added Al-Khelaifi. Enditem
