Beijing edge Bayi to extend winning streak

Beijing defeated Bayi 91-80 at home to reap six consecutive victories and Shandong knocked down Fujian 113-105 for fourth straight win in the 12th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.


Beijing led the game from the start and Bayi did not have any chance to overturn the tide. Justin Hamilton grabbed the team-high 18 points.


Lei Meng contributed 19 points for Bayi who made 7 out of 28 3-pointer attempts as the visitors suffered their 3rd straight loss to rank 17th in the league.


Eugene Jeter, who once played for Shandong, missed all his eight 3-pointers to score only nine points, against his average of 21.3 points for Fujian this season.


Andrew Nicholson scored the game high 38 points.


Donatas Motiejunas continued his outstanding play with 19 points and 13 rebounds for visiting Shandong, after his super double double of 32 points and 32 rebounds in the last round match against Shanghai.


Jiangsu beat Aolong 114-100 at home to put an end to their losing streak as both Wu Guanxi and Miroslav Radulica had double double plays for the home side, while Pierre Jackson and Shavlik Randolph combined 71 points for Aolong.


Jilin overcame Tongxi 124-110 with six players scoring double digit points for the home team, while Joseph Young shot the game-high 51 points for Tongxi which suffered three consecutive defeats to tail the league with two wins against 10 losses.
