Dominique Jones scored a game-high 40 points with 5 assists, while Maciej Lampe added 20 points and 15 rebounds to help Jilin end host Guangdong's 18th winning streak with a 105-96 victory in the 19th round of the 2018-2019 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday night.

Visiting Jilin once blew a 8-point lead in opening minutes before host Guangdong managed to tie the first quarter with 24-24. Veteran Yi Jianlian of Guangdong led the team to lead in early stage of second quarter, and finally finished the first half with a 53-48 lead.

The lead changed hands several times, but Guangdong had a 5-point lead at 83-78 before the last period. Guangdong engined a 6-0 run to lead the scoring in final quarter. Then Jones of Jilin stepped forward, and nobody could stop him from sealing the win.

Yi Jianlian had a team-high 26 points with 10 rebounds. Jilin had 16 3-pointers as Guangdong only scored 7, and Jilin also had 10 more rebounds.

Guangdong opened the season with 18 straight victories, and they certainly expected to extend the record to more wins. The loss was an alarm for Guangdong.

"It is not possible to win all the time in CBA league. Anything is usual. We had a great start with high expectations, but nobody should take the win for granted," Guandong's coach Du Feng said.

Elsewhere, Jiangsu beat Shandong 100-76. Fujian tamed Qingdao 120-98. Shanghai upset Tongxi 109-103. Liaoning defeated Guangsha 94-82.
