The finals of the 6th Hengqin Cup National Postdoctoral Tennis Tournament kicked off in Hengqing New Area of Zhuhai city, Guangdong province on Dec. 14. 

A total of 16 teams, consisting of 150 players, from across the country will take part in the three-day event, which is authorized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the China National Postdoctoral Council. The tournament is sponsored by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and Beijing Sport University, and organized by Hengqin New Area's postdoctoral administration office and Zhuhai Da Hengqin Technology Development Co. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony were, Qiu Chunlei, deputy director of the overseas students and experts service center; and Deng Lianbing, director of Hengqin New Area's postdoctoral administration office and president of Zhuhai Da Hengqin Technology Development Co., Ltd.

Olympic tennis champion Li Ting and Olympic diving champion Li Na both made appearances to cheer on the players.
