Lester Hudson scored a game-high 41 points as Liaoning put up a late rally to beat Shanghai 126-120 in the 26th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Sunday.

With the home victory, the defending champions have extended their winning streak to 15 games.

Shanghai, which defeated Liaoning at home early this season, were hit by a string of injuries before this road trip. Liaoning quickly rounded into form to finish the first quarter 33-22, but Shanghai strengthened their defense and took the lead by 57-54 before the interval.

Shanghai led Liaoning by double digit before the last quarter, where the defending champions Liaoning sped up and netted more points. Liaoning regained the lead with only one minute before the final whistle and successfully managed to extend their winning streak to 15 games.

Guo Ailun added 25 points for the home team. Jimmer Fredette paced Shanghai with 36 points, while his three young Chinese teammates Luo Hanchen, Wang Tong and Yan Peng combined for 62 points.

"The young players of Shanghai played better than expected," Liaoning's coach Guo Shiqiang said.

Shanxi was outclassed by Jilin 119-114, suffering a fourth straight loss.

In other games on Sunday, Shenzhen beat Beikong 108-80, Beijing downed Tianjin 107-86, Sichuan lost to Guangdong 108-101, and Zhejiang held off Xinjiang 111-105.
