Marek Hamsik has brought a record-breaking spell at Napoli to a close after completing a switch to Chinese side Dalian Yifang.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed Thursday on social media that the Serie A team's midfielder and captain Marek Hamsik has left for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.

The Naples club's boss wrote on Twitter: "The deal with Dalian has been signed. I wish Marek to be happy in China. Napoli's doors will always be open for him."

No financial details were released, while local media reports said Dalian paid 20 million euros to Napoli for Hamsik, who signed a three-year contract worth 9 million euros a year.

Hamsik, 31, joined Napoli in 2007 and scored a record 121 goals in 520 appearances for the club, whose last top scorer was Diego Maradona with 115 goals.

The news came ahead of Napoli's Europa League game against Zurich on Thursday, with the Slovak international's move to China expected to complete this week.
