Belarusian league champions BATE Borisov stunned English Premier League giants Arsenal 1-0 in the first leg of the Europa League last 32 on Thursday night at Borisov Arena.
The winner came in the 45th minute when a free kick from Igor Stasevich was headed home by Stanislav Dragun.
At the beginning of the second half, Alexandre Lacazette scored for Arsenal, but it was disallowed by the umpire for offside.
In the 85th minute, Lacazette received a straight red card for his elbow after he was held round the chest.
The second leg between BATE and Arsenal will be held in London on February 21.
