China's national football team will play German Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich in a friendly match on May 29, the German club announced on its official website on Monday.

The Allianz China Cup will be played at the Beijing National Stadium, 11 days after the conclusion of the 2018/19 Bundesliga season.

"Our club has been active in China for many years and supports the development of football there through numerous initiatives," said FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "We very much welcome the commitment of our partner Allianz and we are pleased that together, we can support the continued footballing exchange between Germany and China."

This will be Bayern's fourth visit to China, with the club having opened an office in Shanghai in 2017 to help increase its presence in the country.

The Allianz China Cup is a collaboration between German insurance company Allianz, FC Bayern and the Chinese Football Association.
