Eintracht Frankfurt have activated the purchase option to make Luka Jovic's contract permanent until June 2023, the "Eagles" confirmed on Wednesday.
The on loan Benfica striker will stay with the "Eagles" after putting pen to paper on his permanent deal until June 2023.
"Luka's development with us is very pleasing. For us there was no question that we wanted to sign him permanently," Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director Fredi Bobic said.
The 21-year-old Serbia international joined Frankfurt in the summer 2017 and made an immediate impact as he scored eight goals in 22 games in his first season. In the current season, he has provided 17 goals and 6 assists in overall 27 Bundesliga appearances. In addition, he marked eight goals in eight Europa League games.
"He is a player with extraordinary abilities. It is important to us that we have bound him to Frankfurt," Bobic added.
On Thursday, Eintracht Frankfurt clash with Benfica trying to turn over a 4-2 first-leg loss at the Europa League quarterfinals before they travel to Wolfsburg in the 30th round of Bundesliga on Sunday.
