Hawks forward Vince Carter announced on Tuesday that he intends to return for an NBA record 22nd season.

"I'm coming back," the 42-year-old told teammate Kent Bazemore on their "Winging It" podcast.

Atlanta marked Carter's eighth team. The 21-year NBA veteran signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Hawks in July 2018, saying he was "90-something percent" sure that the 2018-19 season would be his last one. However, when his first year as the Atlanta Hawks' forward drew to a close, Carter changed his mind: "I do want to play another year."

When asked if he will stay in Atlanta, Carter responded, "I would like to. We'll see what happens."

The eight-time All-Star has reached the playoffs 11 times in the past 21 seasons, but has never won an NBA championship. He ended 2018-19 in 23rd place on the NBA's all-time scoring list with 25,430 career points and averaged 7.4 points on 38.9 percent from 3-point range and 2.6 rebounds in 17.5 minutes over 76 games this past season, proving he could still give more to the game with his experience and passion.

Many are now wondering which team he will go to, but at least it is clear that the NBA will get one more year of Vinsanity.
