FC Barcelona will probably be without French international winger Ousmane Dembele for the rest of the season after the club confirmed on Sunday that he has torn his right hamstring.

Dembele, who had been working his way back to full fitness after a muscle injury on his left leg, started Saturday's 2-0 defeat away to Celta Vigo, but pulled up after just five minutes and was replaced by debutant Alex Collado.

Following the game, the club published a medical communique informing: "Ousmane Dembele suffered a muscular injury in his right hamstring."

"The injury was confirmed by the Club's medical staff and on Sunday he will go further tests to find out the exact extent of the injury."

Sunday's tests confirmed Dembele has torn his hamstring, although the club refused to say how long he will be out of action for, saying "his availability will be determined by his recovery."

The usual time out for a torn hamstring is at least three weeks, meaning Dembele is almost certain to miss the Spanish Copa del Rey final which sees Barca face Valencia on May 25th, while he would also be a serious doubt for the Champions League final on June 1st if Barca are able to defend their 3-0 semifinal first leg lead at Anfield on Tuesday night.
