Germany international Julian Brandt has joined Borussia Dortmund with immediate effect, both Bundesliga club confirmed on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has penned a five-year deal and will stay with the "BVB" until summer 2024.
"Although Julian Brandt has been playing in the Bundesliga for a long time and has a lot of experience both nationally and internationally, at the age of 23 years he is still a young professional with room for development," Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said.
"He can play on several offensive position and will enrich our game with creativity," Zorc added.
Brandt played five-and-half years at Bayer Leverkusen where he developed to a key player. During his spell with the "Werkself" he made 165 competitive appearances to provide 41 assists and 34 goals.
"I am the kind of guy who follows his feelings and in the case of Borussia Dortmund I had a good feeling. I want to grow personally and that is one of the main reasons for my transfer," new arrival Brandt told the club's official homepage.
"The BVB narrowly missed the title last season so there is room for improvement next season," Brandt said.
After the arrival of Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt is Dortmund's fourth reinforcement for the next season.
