Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos on Thursday told a press conference that he would not be going to China and wanted to see out the rest of his career at his current club.
The conference came two days after Real Madrid President Florentino Perez confirmed press reports that Ramos had asked for a free contract in order to accept a lucrative offer to play in China.
Although Ramos admitted he had received an offer to play in China but denied that he had asked to leave.
"If I do ever leave Madrid it will be as my level on longer good enough. And I'd go to a team which doesn't compete with Real Madrid," he said.
Ramos also denied stories of a poor relationship with Perez telling the press that "I've never had problem with president and I want to reiterate that I want to see out my contract at Real Madrid."
"The President is like a father to me and we have not talked about money for a long time," he insisted.
