Chinese teenage center Han Xu, who had been selected by the New York Liberty in WNBA Draft 2019, scored her first three-pointer in her second WNBA game against the Indiana Fever in Indianapolis on Saturday night.

The 19-year-old Han, 2.07m, came from the bench one minute left in the third quarter and played 11 minutes till the end of the game in which Fever upset Liberty 92-77.

Han told Xinhua after the game, "I made the three-pointer in the first half of the fourth quarter amid a pick and roll. I received a pass from Kia Nurse and shot without any hesitation. The muscle memory helped me as the game was so physical that I even had no time to aim at the basket."

"Playing 11 minutes, I felt OK," she added.

Besides the three-pointer, Han collected four points from a layup and a jump shot in the fourth quarter, took a defensive rebound and a steal, and got no fouls. Her percentage of field goal and three-pointer attempts was 100.

However, Liberty lost due to their poor percentage of field goal attempts, only 34 as compared to 52 for Fever.

Fever's shooting guard Kelsey Mitchell made five 3-pointers and scored 23 points to hand Liberty its second straight loss in the new season.

In the season opener in New York on May 24, Teaira McCowan, the third pick in the WNBA Draft 2019, scored under basket at the buzzer to gift Fever the stunning 81-80 win over Liberty. Han played 65 seconds in the third quarter of that game without scoring.

In other WNBA matches on Saturday, Chicago Sky beat defending champions Seattle Storm 83-79, Minnesota Lynx upset Dallas Wings 70-67, and Washington Mystics crushed Atlanta Dream 96-75.
