More than 30 sports stars including Olympic taekwondo champion Wu Jingyu of China took part in the Olympic Capital Run on Saturday, as part of the inauguration of Olympic House, the new headquarters of the IOC and in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the IOC.

The visiting Olympians, together with the Olympic medallists, have won 125 Olympic medals, a symbolic number as the IOC celebrates its 125th anniversary on Sunday.

Wu, who won gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, was the only athlete representing the sport of taekwondo.

"I feel very honored to be invited to take part in this event," Wu said. "Although we come from different countries and different sports, we are like a big family."

The Run started in the gardens - featuring a marble arch with the Olympic rings - of the new headquarters of the IOC. The new gardens as well as the playground next to it was inaugurated just before the run in the presence IOC President Thomas Bach.

This year's Olympic Run attracted over 2,000 participants.
