Chinese Super League giants Guangzhou Evergrande FC announced the signing of Brazilian forward Elkeson de Oliveira Cardoso from Shanghai SIPG on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old, who began his career in Brazil's Vitoria in 2009 before transferring to Botafogo two years later, first arrived in Guangzhou in 2013.
He had an instant effect, assisting Guangzhou to their third Chinese Super League title in 2013, and remained a pivotal player for the next two years as they clinched back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015.
Guangzhou, who have not missed a single edition in the AFC Champions League since 2012, won the 2013 edition with Elkeson playing a major role.
The player was again a key performer as Guangzhou won the 2015 AFC Champions League.
In 2016, Elkeson transferred to rival club Shanghai SIPG, where he earned his third Chinese Super League title in 2018, as well as a Chinese FA Super Cup trophy a year later.
Elkeson will be aiming for a third AFC Champions League title as Guangzhou are through to the quarter-finals where they will face Japan's Kashima Antlers, the defending champions.
