It has been confirmed by Italian media on Monday that Juventus and Ajax had reached a deal on the transfer of Matthijs De Ligt, who is set to undergo a medical examination arranged by Juventus on Wednesday.

After long weeks of negotiation, De Ligt is expected to arrive in Turin on Tuesday night and receive a medical exam early in the next morning. The deal is reportedly worth up to 75 million euro.

The 19-year-old Dutch defender De Ligt captained Ajax for 117 games, scoring 13 goals. He also played 15 games for the Netherlands national team.

During the last season, the club reached the semifinals of UEFA Champions League again after 22 years thanks to his outstanding leadership, which also earned himself a position in the best squad.

Courted by Manchester United, Barcelona and other clubs, De Ligt, agreed to sign a contract with Juventus on a five-year term, including an annual salary of 12 million euros and a 150 million penalty, according to the Italian press.
