French young midfielder Christopher Nkunku has joined Bundesliga club Leipzig from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain through a contract running until 2024.

"I'm overjoyed to be a Leipzig player. I've heard a lot about the club and I'm convinced that the way they play football here suits me very well. I even know a few of my new teammates. As a result, I'm optimistic that I can quickly find my feet here," Nkunku said after his signing.

The 21-year-old Nkunku trained at the PSG youth academy and made 78 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals and dishing out 4 assists.

He has won three Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, three French League Cups and two French Super Cups.

Nkunku, the six-time capped France U21 international, made 29 appearances for PSG in the 2018-2019 season.

"The club wishes Christopher all the best for the rest of his professional career," read a PSG statement.

"With his ability, Nkunku fits our profile very well. He's a dynamic and versatile player in attack, and can bring a lot of variety to our game," said Markus Kroesche, Leipzig's sporting director.
