Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang announced on Friday the arrival of West Bromwich Albion player Salomon Rondon.

The Venezuelan striker joined Dalian on a three-and-a-half-year contract with a transfer fee of 16.5 million pounds (around 140 million yuan) after his loan deal with Newcastle expired.

Dalian, which has been ambitious in signing Premier League talents, started the discussions with Rondon right after naming Rafa Benitez as the head coach in early July and offered Rondon an eight million pounds (about 69 million yuan) annual salary.

The 29-year-old was said to be keen on working with Benitez again after having spent the last season under the former Newcastle coach's guidance.

Rondon, who turns 30 in two months, notched 12 goals and 7 assists across 33 games played for Newcastle United.
