Manchester City have completed the signing of Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo from Juventus, the English Premier League champions said on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old, who reportedly moved to the Etihad Stadium on a fee of 60 million pounds, has signed a 6-year contract, which will keep him at City until the summer of 2025.

He follows Angelino and Rodri to become Pep Guardiola's third signing of the summer.

"City are a fantastic club, with a brilliant manager and I am delighted to be here," he said.

"Everything about them has impressed me, from the facilities, to their style of play.

"I am always looking to develop my game and win trophies and I believe I can do that here, so now I'm really looking forward to the new season and testing myself in the Premier League."

Cancelo's professional career began with Benfica, where he progressed through their academy and won the 2013 Portuguese U19 Championship alongside Bernardo Silva.

He made his senior debut the following season, when the Lisbon giants claimed a domestic treble, but joined Valencia on a year-long loan in 2014/15 and did enough in 13 games to convince Los Che to make the deal permanent.

He went on to play 77 times over the next two campaigns before heading off on loan again, this time to Inter Milan, where he thrived.

Cancelo's form convinced Juventus to swoop for him last summer and he continued to impress in Turin, where he scored one goal and provided five assists in 34 games as Juve lifted an eighth successive Serie A title.

He also help his country to win the inaugural UEFA Nations League title with Portugal this summer.
