Novak Djokovic, who was leading the ATP rankings, clinched his first win at Cincinnati Masters to reach the third round after his Pyrrhic victory in Wimbledon last month.

The Serbian player, who was back to the court for the first time since beating Roger Federer, winner of 20 Grand Slam titles, in the Wimbledon final, secured a victorious match against Sam Querrey in 7-5, 6-1.

Djokovic, 16-time Grand Slam singles champion, has grabbed 33 Masters titles, aiming to win a 34th Masters title at the US open warm-up event to be on a par with Rafael Nadal with a record of 35, who withdrew from Cincinnati for US Open preparation.
