Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho will be loanded from Barcelona to Bayern Munich for the new season, the German club announced on Friday.
The 27-year-old, who was nominated as the second-most expensive player in the world at the time following his fellow countryman Neymar after joining Barcelona from Liverpool in the summer of 2018, is set to join Bayern, but he is going to finalize the deal agreed by Barcelona and the German club in the coming days.
Coutinho's departure to Bayern was successively confirmed by both Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Barcelona director Guillermo Amor, a welcome delight to Bayern as the club's director and head coach described.
With 56 full international caps for Brazil and having scored 16 goals for his country, the Brazilian had spells in at Barcelona, Liverpool, Inter Milan and his home-nation team.
