Internazionale crushed Lecce 4-0 in their first Serie A match of the new season at Stadio San Siro on Monday.

It was Inter's debut Serie A game for coach Antonio Conte and Stirker Romelu Lukaku. In a 3-5-2 formation, Lukaku played alongside Lautaro Martinez, Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella.

In the 21st minute, Marcelo Brozovic opened the scoring with a shot from the edge of the box. Three minutes later, after the first attempt charged down by his own teammate, Sensi scored with a daisy-cutter inside the area.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Lecce's goal keeper Gabriel Vasconcelos Ferreira parried a long-range score form Martinez, only to send it into the path of Lukaku who tapped in his first Serie A goal.

In the 80th minute, Matteo Politano's goal was disallowed because Lukaku was offside. In the last few minutes, Antonio Candreva scored a mind-blowing goal from 30 metres, sealing the 4-0 win.

"It was a good performance and you can see the ideas there. It's an excellent result. We have some more steps to take, such as improving the mental consistency and focus, but I'm very satisfied and it's a pleasure to work with these lads," said Conte after the game.
