Asian record holder Liu Xiang cemented her reputation in the women's 50m freestyle as she claimed the gold on the last day of the Chinese Autumn Swimming Championships here on Thursday.

Liu, 50m backstroke world record holder and 50m freestyle Asian record holder, took the victory in 24.89, beating Chen Xinyi 25.20 and Wu Qingfeng 25.32.

"I tried to use one breath to swim the whole 50 meters for the first time at this meet. And I did it during preliminary, semifinals and final. I felt great," said the 23-year-old Liu.

Ji Xinjie snatched his fourth title at the meet by winning men's 1500m freestyle 15:25.14, Yu Hexin won the men's 50m freestyle 22.69.

Zhejiang dominated in both men's and women's medley relay finals.

The 9-day championships attracted 522 swimmers and are considered a rehearsal for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games with a morning final competition format.
