Chinese player Peng Shuai lost to Kazakhstani fourth seed Elena Rybakina 6-1, 3-6, and 6-2, failing to move into the finals in singles of 2019 Jiangxi Open on Saturday.

Peng lost the first set due to consecutive faults. She fought back in the second set and won it 6-3. In the deciding third set, Rybakina stayed aggressive and scored an easy win to advance into the finals.

In the other match, Sweden's fifth seeded Rebecca Peterson had a 6-3, 6-1 win over her opponent, Serbia's Nina Stojanovic, who had won over several seeded players in the previous matches. Peterson took control and extended her advantage to seal her victory in 79 minutes, and she will meet Rybakina in the finals.
