FC Barcelona may still be without Leo Messi as he puts the final touches to his calf injury, but the Camp Nou has a new hero in 16-year-old Ansu Fati who helped them on their way to a 5-2 win at home to Valencia on Saturday night.

The game got off to a flying start as the 16 year-old opened the scoring with a right foot shot as he ran onto a pass from the right and brilliant work from the teenager then set up Frenkie De Jong to double Barca's lead after just 6 minutes.

Barca controlled the first 20 minutes, but Valencia were able to withstand the pressure and Kevin Gameiro got them back into the game in the 26th minute as Barca's defense again looked vulnerable.

Gerard Pique reestablished Barca's two-goal advantage six minutes after the break, tapping home from close range after Jasper Cillessen made a horrible mess of Antoine Griezmann's shot.

Cillessen joined Valencia from Barca this summer and it's certainly a moment he will want to forget.

Nelsen Semedo then hit the post for Barca before Luis Suarez added a fourth moments after replacing Fati for his first appearance after suffering a muscle injury on August 16th.

Cillessen then made a series of saves to deny Griezmann, Carles Perez and Suarez as the home team threatened to run away with the game, but he could do nothing to stop Suarez's snapshot which gave Barca their fifth.

Maxi Gomez scored for Valencia in injury time but it couldn't take away from a satisfying night for Barca which Leo Messi seemed to enjoy watching from the stand. He will be back soon and presumably Barca will be even better.

Atletico Madrid's 100 percent start to the season came to an abrupt end as they lost 2-0 away to Real Sociedad, who inaugurated their remodeled Anoeta Stadium, which is known as the Reale Arena.

The home side were the better from the start and sealed the win with two goals in the space of four minutes from Norwegian forward Martin Odegaard and recent arrival Nacho Monreal in the 57th and 60th minutes of the game.

Real Madrid produced a fine first half in which they took a 3-0 lead at home to Levante, with two goals from Karim Benzema and one from Casemiro, before a second half saw Levante fight back with strikes from Borja Majoral and Gonzalo Melero and Ruben Vezo almost snatched a last minute equalizer with a diving header in injury time.

Apart from three vital points the other good news for Real Madrid was the long-awaited debut of Eden Hazard who played the last 30 minutes of the game.

Villarreal took their first win of the season while piling the pressure on Leganes, who have now lost their first four matches of the new campaign. Gerard Moreno scored twice while Jonathan Silva put the ball into his own net to give Villarreal a comfortable win against a rival who look destined to suffer this campaign.
