Real Madrid moved to the top of the La Liga table after a 2-0 win at home to Osasuna on Wednesday night.

It was far from an inspiring performance from Zinedine Zidane's side against the recently promoted side, but two moments of magic from Brazilian teenagers Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo gave them the win.

Vinicius opened the scoring with a curling shot into the far corner of the net, before Rodrygo doubled Madrid's lead in the second half, moments after coming on the pitch to replace his countryman.

Atletico Madrid won 2-0 away to Mallorca with goals from Diego Costa, who netted a header from a corner, and Joao Felix with a shot that deflected over the keeper.

Athletic Club Bilbao missed a chance to remain top when they drew 1-1 away to bottom of the table Leganes.

Raul Garcia put Athletic ahead from the penalty spot in the 59th minute, but Oscar Garcia leveled for the home side with a free kick just two minutes later.

Valencia and Getafe shared six goals in the Mestalla Stadium in a game which saw Getafe open the score, through Jaime Mata in the first minute and Valencia bounce back with two goals from Maxi Gomez in the 30th and 34th minute.

Kang In added a third for the home side in the 39th minute and things looked good for Valencia, but Getafe battled their way to a point in an open game with goals from Jason and Angel Rodriguez in the 66th and 69th minutes to condemn Valencia to their second home draw in four days.

Tuesday's games saw Barcelona hang on for a 2-1 win at home to Villarreal with Antoine Griezmann and Arthur Melo putting Barca 2-0 up within 15 minutes before Santi Cazorla's effort on the stroke of halftime led to a nervous second half.

Valladolid and Granada drew 1-1, while Betis came back from 1-0 down to beat Levante 3-1, thanks partly to two goals from Loren Moron. Enditem
