Shaanxi provincial basketball league leaders Xi'an will take on the Singapore national team on Monday at Xi'an's Northwestern Polytechnical University, the provincial basketball association said on Thursday.

Xi'an topped the first phase of the 12-team league with an unbeaten record. During the league's short break, the team representing the hometown of the Terracotta Warriors will play the bronze medalists from the 2013 Southeast Asia Games.

"In addition to Xi'an, the Singapore team will face the Shaanxi youth side and the Northwestern Polytechnical University team during its training period in Xi'an from October 8 to 15," said Wang Libin, president of the Shaanxi Basketball Association.

"Hosting Singapore in Xi'an not only reflects the recent improvement that Shaanxi has made in terms of basketball infrastructure, but also shows our determination in promoting international basketball exchanges," Wang added.
