FC Barcelona cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win away to Eibar on their return to league football following the international break.

Ernesto Valverde's side rarely looked in trouble after Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring in the 12th minute and goals from Leo Messi and Luis Suarez in the second half sealed a win in which all three of Barca's attacking trident found the back of the net.

With Ousmane Dembele and Gerard Pique out through suspension, Samuel Umtiti was a surprise inclusion in the Barca starting 11 after a long period of injury problems.

Griezmann hadn't played a single minute of Barca's 4-0 win over Sevilla before the international break raising questions over his role in the side, but he answered some of those doubts after 12 minutes when he latched onto a through ball and beat Eibar keeper Marco Dmitrovic, with a shot that went in off the post.

The Eibar keeper did well to deny Messi just after the half hour when the Argentinean looked odds on to score, only for the keeper to stick out a miraculous left hand.

The second half began with Nelson Semedo replacing Sergi Roberto, who was suffering from a knee problem and Suarez had a goal correctly ruled out for offside in the 50th minute, shortly before Messi doubled Barca's lead.

The striker was on hand to provide a low shot to finish off a flowing move involving Frenkie de Jong, Luis Suarez and Griezmann and make it 2-0.

Suarez sealed the win in the 66th minute after great work from Messi, who generously gave the ball to the Uruguayan to tap into an open goal.

Ivan Rakitic replaced De Jong for the closing minutes of the game to end an excellent return to action for Valverde's men.
