The Chinese women's team remained top of the standings at the 2019 Qinghai International Curling Elite, winning four out of four matches after Saturday's play.

In the fourth round of women's matches in the afternoon, the Chinese earned two points with a hammer on the first end and stole one on the second against Estonia.

The team then neutralized their opponents' hammer advantage in the third end and stole three ends in a row for a 9-0 lead. The two sides finished the game with Estonia conceding before throwing their last stone in the seventh end.

"Though we are happy about the four consecutive wins, we still need to make a fresh start and be prepared for tomorrow's two tough matches," said Zhao Ruiyi, lead of the Chinese team.

Elsewhere, Russia claimed a comfortable 8-3 victory over South Korea, while Canada and the United States remain winless after losing respectively to Germany and Switzerland.

In the men's competition, South Korea made it five wins from five after defeating the United States 5-3 in the evening, having also beaten China 7-3 earlier in the day.

The Chinese men recorded their second loss of the day in the evening, losing 6-3 to the Netherlands.

The 2019 Qinghai International Curling Elite is being held at the Duoba National Highland Physical Training Base in northwest China's Qinghai province, featuring 16 teams from ten countries competing on ice from December 5 to 10.
