Dez Wells scored a game-high 34 points to help Zhejiang Lions survive a sloppy fourth quarter, beating Guangzhou Long Lions 106-102 on the road in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.
With 90 seconds on the clock, Wells who also had nine rebounds and seven assists, hit a three to gift Zhejiang a 100-94 lead and seal the victory.
After Zhejiang led 82-72 into the last quarter, Zheng Zhun, who scored a team-high 27 points, made his 3-pointer to initiate a 20-5 run for Guangzhou and overtook the lead at 92-87. Then, Wells stood out for a 9-0 spurt to regain the lead for Zhejiang.
Leading 26-25 after a close first quarter, the visitors found their rhythm for their long-range shots and took a 54-43 advantage into halftime where both teams tried to dominate the downtown.
