Brooks leads Guangdong past Liaonin, Shenzhen rout Beijing Royal Fighters

Marshon Brooks' big fourth quarter led the Guangdong Southeast Tigers past the Liaoning Flying Leopards 105-95 to extend their winning streak to seven games, while Stephon Marbury's Beijing Royal Fighters was smashed by the Shenzhen Aviators 106-75 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Friday.

Brooks had 16 of his game-high 44 points in the fourth quarter, including four 3-pointer to help Guangdong hold on for the victory. Sonny Weems scored 16 poins as Zhao Rui and Yi Jianlian each had 12 points.

Guangdong fell behind by 9 points in the second quarter but made a 12-4 run after the break to turn around the game. Zhao Rui hit two consecutive 3-pointers in an 8-1 run as Guangdong jumped out to a 95-84 lead in the fourth quarter. Lance Stephenson, who scored 36 points, tried to bounce Liaoning back, but Brooks' 3-pointer with 1 minute left put the game away.

Zhao Jiwei contributed 22 points and Brandon Bass finished with 21 points for Liaoning. Guo Ailun missed his third consecutive game due to the flu.

Shenzhen snapped Beijing Royal Fighters' four-game winning streak as Dwight Buycks scored 29 points to lead six players in double figures.

Shenzhen led from start to finish and took their largest lead of the game at 90-58 in the fourth quarter. Beijing only had 9 points in the third quarter and suffered a season-low 75 points in this embarrassing night.

Elsewhere, the Nanjing Monkey Kings defeated the Shanghai Sharks 111-106, and the Zhejiang Golden Bulls rout Jiangsu Dragons 115-99.
