The Chinese Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has received three New Year's cards signed by Yao Ming, a former world famous basketball player, an offical of the embassy told Xinhua on Saturday.

The three cards were sent by Yao Ming to three fans of BiH, all of whom have special identities -- Milorad Dodik, a member of BiH's presidency, Zoran Tegeltija, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Zlatko M. Knezevic, the President of Constitutional Court of BiH.

Of the three, Dodik was a professional basketball player who funded the Lgoke basketball club, while Tegeltija was president of the Basketball Federation of the Republika Srpska, one of the two entities of BiH.

"All three admire Yao's basketball skills. Upon hearing this, Yao Ming entrusted the Chinese embassy to BiH to convey his best wishes for the New Year to the special three fans," the offical said, adding that Chinese embassy to BiH has forwarded Yao's cards to the three special fans on Thursday.

The year 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and BiH. The Chinese embassy to BiH will hold a series of commemorative and celebration activities.

"These small greeting cards show the friendly feelings of the Chinese people towards the people of BiH, indicating that the exchanges between the two countries in various fields will continue to deepen on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties," read the official social media account of the Chinese embassy to BiH.
