An expressway linking the two host cities of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics started operation Thursday.

As one of the major transport infrastructure projects for the sports gala, the highway connects Beijing's Yanqing District and the Chongli District in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, with its main line, which extends some 114 km.

The highway is designed with traditional Chinese culture, local culture and Winter Olympic features and is capable of taking autonomous driving tests.
