The Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFAAC) decided on Mar. 14 to postpone Sunday's match between Morocco's Raja Casablanca and Egypt's Ismaily over fears of the spread of COVID-19.
The union had decided earlier this week that this match for the second leg of the Arab Cup semifinals will be played behind closed doors in Casablanca before deciding to postpone the semifinal matches indefinitely.
Ismaily won the first leg against Raja of Casablanca 1-0 in Ismailia, Egypt last month.
Saudi Club Al-Shabab was due to face country rival Al-Ittihad in the other semifinal confrontation.
"In reference to the latest news concerning the spread of coronavirus, and according to the precautionary measures taken by countries all over the world to deal with this virus, and out of concern for the safety of the players, we decided to postpone the semifinal matches until further notice," said a statement by the union on Mar. 14.
