Uganda have ejected Tanzania in the first round of the 2020 FIFA U-17n Women's World Cup qualifier.

After losing the first leg 2-1 in Tanzania, the Ugandan team fought back to defeat Tanzania 5-0 in the return leg at the Lugogo Stadium on Saturday.

The big win saw Uganda qualify by 6-2 on aggregate where they will face the winners between Cameroon and Sao Tome and Principe in the play-off.

Winger Margaret Kunihira gave Uganda the lead after 43 minutes with a hard shot past the Tanzanian goalkeeper Aishi Ismail. But Tanzania also had a chance earlier through Joyce Meshak whose shot hit the woodwork and bounced off.

After 58 minutes Fauzia Najjemba scored to make it 2-0 from a free kick. The Tanzania team tried to fight back to score, but found the Ugandan defenders strong.

Later Grace Aluka also scored and skipper Juliet Nalukenge scored twice to give Uganda a 5-0 win.

Tanzania's coach Bakari Shime said although his players did not take their chances, they did not play well in the second half. "Uganda used their chances and scored," added Shime.
