Guo Shiqiang, head coach of Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) powerhouses Liaoning Flying Leopards, expects his team to show something different after the league restarts on Saturday.

The Liaoning side is scheduled to depart for Qingdao in east China's Shandong province on Wednesday for final preparation before CBA's resumption.

"Everyone has been working hard in training. I'm quite satisfied with their attitude and commitment. Their training quality also gives me reasons to feel pleased," Guo said.

"Physically we have good reserves, but how to distribute it in the championship-style format is pretty crucial," he added.

Liaoning is reported to play with an all-domestic roster at the first stage after CBA restarts, but a source close to the club has revealed their overseas player O.J. Mayo could be activated "in due time."

"You will see a Liaoning team playing with a different style," Guo said.

Liaoning ranked third among the 20 teams before the 2019-2020 season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic with 30 rounds of matches yet to play.

They will take on the Beijing Ducks in their first match after the league's resumption. Enditem
