Former Italy international forward Dani Osvaldo could finish his career where it began - at Argentina's Atletico Huracan - the Buenos Aires club's president said on Sunday.

Osvaldo is contracted to Banfield until the end of the year but local media reports have said the 34-year-old could leave in the coming days.

"If we have a chance to sign him and [manager Israel] Damonte wants him, we'll try to do it," Huracan president Alejandro Naduro told Radio Continental. "I'd love for him to finish his career here."

Osvaldo has made just one appearance for Banfield since coming out of retirement to join the Argentinian Superliga outfit in January.

He began his career with Huracan in 2005, netting 11 goals in 33 games before his move to Atalanta in the Italian Serie A.

He subsequently had spells with Fiorentina, Roma, Juventus, Inter Milan, Boca Juniors and Porto, among other clubs.

Football has been suspended in Argentina since mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic, and officials have yet to indicate when it might resume.
