Zhejiang win over Qingdao, Xinjiang trounce Shanghai

With Sun Minghui's stunning 16 assists, Zhejiang Lions powered past Qingdao Eagles 100-88 in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.

Sun scored 10 points and sent 16 assists for Zhejiang, while Hu Jinqiu contributed a game-high 19 points. For Qingdao, Wang Qingming got 17 points, while rookie Wang Ruize and Zhai Yi each had 12.

"I am happy with what happened on court. We need to go step by step, keep calm and prepare for the next game," Li Jinglong of Zhejiang said.

"We finished the game with 32 turnovers and gave them too many chances, that's horrible. We must address those issues and deal with details better than we did today," said Qingdao coach Wu Qinglong.

Upset by the bottom-placed Bayi Rockets on Tuesday, the second-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tigers didn't repeat its mistakes in the match-up against Shanghai Sharks by smashing them 108-77.

"What we had yesterday was a comprehensive loss, a warning that we are not allowed to take any opponents for granted," said Xinjiang head coach Adiljan after the game. "We are back on track today. We played our way and took control of the whole game."

The Chinese international Zhou Qi led in both points (25) and rebounds (15) for Xinjiang while Fan Ziming also posted a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

In another overwhelmed win, Ekpe Udoh and Jeremy Lin combined for 47 points as Beijing Ducks defeat Guangzhou Loong Lions 96-72.

Udoh scored a game-high 31 points, 16 boards and five blocks. Lin posted 16 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Fang Shuo added 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Sun Mingyang led Guangzhou's attack with 12 points. Jia Mingru and Liu Fengbo added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Guangdong Southeast Tigers also enjoyed a big win over Beijing Royal Fighters 136-91 while Yi Jianlian became the top scorer in the CBA regular season history.

With 5:44 remaining on the clock, Yi earned his 9,277th point through an outstanding dunk, became the top scorer in the CBA regular season history after surpassing Liu Wei's 9,275 points.

Fujian Sturgeons pulled off a back-to-back win over Jiangsu Dragons 107-96. Ty Lawson from Fujian finished a game-high 30 points. Chen Linjian and Wang Zhelin combined for 49. Jiangsu's 21-year-old forward Liu Yuxuan finished with a career-high 21 points, including a buzzer-heater three-pointer.

Gu Quan, Shen Zijie and Li Muhao combined for 60 points to help Shenzhen Aviators beat Sichuan Blue Whales 92-76. Li Yuanyu had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Sichuan, while Shen got 18 points and 12 rebounds for Shenzhen.
